[Pwanchi Burger Episode 3]

I actually work at a fast food restaurant. Customers often ask us to make fresh fries. I never really understand how people would want fries that would burn your mouth off. That part of the episode got my attention. I feel I should point out though that any place that had service that bad wouldn't still be open; and any employees like Cody and Tod (and probably Ryan) would be fired already. Still, it was entertaining.

A little forced

Wasn't the best poem in the world. It was a little rough and forced, but it had a purpose and a meaning behind it. That's more than I can say for many of the animations on here. I'm starting to see how twisted things can be when people start complaining that there's actually a point to the animation. Well, for those that complain, you chose to watch it and, personally, I've seen so many worse animations than this; and, in addition to that, they had no point at all; and the kicker is, people still give them 10s (which I can't even begin to understand). Yet people, like Metal-kiwi, complain about this one in particular and give it a 1, not because it was simply a horrible animation (wasn't top notch, but it was above par), but because it had a point he didn't agree with. It's easy to make poor animations with no point, a child could do it. Takes some artistic skill to make a good animation, some real intellect to have a point, and guts to present a clip that some people will mock, make fun of, and even claim it has no place on newgrounds (Metal-kiwi is a good example). I'm sorry those people miss the point of the animation. The irony with most of Jonathan Lam's animations is that the ones who understand his animations aren't the audience that Jonathan wants to reach most; it's the ones that don't understand (and often don't want to understand) that the animations are meant for.

Sometimes I come to an animation that I don't agree with the point of it and I usually don't vote on it. I should commend Metal-kiwi for actually taking time to express his thoughts. Most people just say they didn't like it and leave, showing very little thought going into their simple reviews.

However, it's kind of an irony that Metal-kiwi says, "comparing your God to a gun tells me everything I need to know about your type of Christianity. Your God has little love to it and is shallow and meaningless as a dollar" But his next few words are, "I've come to Newgrounds to watch videos that are illegal in some countries, depicting uncalculable varieties of death and terrifying situations." It pretty much says he's not looking for the truth, a point, or even meaning: he just wants mindless slaughter in multiple forms and circumstances. Sounds like he's contradicting himself, by declaring that God has no meaning or value and then saying "I'm not looking for meaning or value anyway." If he was truly searching for something without meaning or value, and this animation showed a god without meaning or value, he would have at least given it a half decent rating. Instead, I see a person who found something with a point, but wanted something without a point.

Don't stop, Jonathan; you may never know about those who didn't understand at first, but later were granted the clarity they needed later. Keep on trudging through, there's more work to be done.

Eh? It's a sad ending?

Yes, but one that can be avoided. The question is will you...
1) go on with your life as it was and have a sad ending?
2) be motivated enough to take a different path than the one so many take?

The choice is yours.

Your animations require thinking

I hope this one is enough to prime a few brains. I really liked it, actually. The plot isn't a typical, clean cut "hero vs villain" story. In order to understand, a brain is required. My advice to all viewers is, "If at first it's not obvious: think, think, again." The best kind of story is always one that requires thinking. I would recommend some changes, but I found this idea to be brilliant and highly original (at least from a theatrical standpoint). A job well done.

Too deep, in fact, for many people to understand. Or maybe they just didn't take the time to read the text at the end. The only real issue with this animation is that I doubt most people understand where you're coming from. I do, but most people don't. Don't let that stop you though, keep trying.

[Contemplate Life]

Not what I expected!

Originally, I saw the name of this animation and thought, "Oh great, another person who is just going to present their view of life's problems and no solution for it." Everyone knows the issues of life; everyone knows how hard it is to find an answer. Many find an answer and hang onto it for so long only to find it wasn't the right answer. And so many (like your animation states) run around accepting the most common answers we have been given by the media and our society. Ideas that being good gets you to heaven or that the answer to life is money, drugs, power, etc or a combination of all those things. Those with money find themselves incomplete, they turn to drugs and are still incomplete, they turn to self indulgence and spare no expense and are still incomplete. They turn to control and power, but it still doesn't complete them. True, most people don't actually get to try all those things, but ask anyone who has ever gained the most of everything be it money, drugs, power, or self-indulgence. They will all tell you that it was fulfilling in the beginning, but somewhere down the line it wasn't enough and they knew they still missing something. People overdose on drugs all too often because they know that what the dose they took last time wasn't enough to fulfill them. People who are the richest in the world realize there is no lasting pleasure in it and often enough start giving away their excess money. Even this philanthropist mentality doesn't end up pleasing people for long, though it actually does something beneficial and longer-lasting for a multitude of people, not just an individual. I would suggest that part of the purpose to life is actually finding that purpose instead of just blindly accepting the media's view on it. I recommend you search and find the answer before you die. I would also recommend starting with the answer given in this animation, but that's really up to you.

As for this animation, it was great but I really want to point out a few issues with it. The music drowned out the narrator's voice (the music went well with the video, but tone it down a little) and the recording of the narrator's voice crackled several times, so you might want to try a better microphone or recording it differently. Other than that, it was really good. I hope to see more.

[BHawk's Minecraft Story]

Went from predictable to hilarious

I saw the creeper coming, so many other animations do the same thing. However, I didn't see the lava coming. Now, I don't actually play Minecraft, but my brother does. So I did notice a few things about it. My question is couldn't you use the materials you dug up (dirt, stone, etc) to place a wall between you and the creepers? It's just a thought.

The secret character in the intro wouldn't happen to be the green castle crasher would it? Interesting movie, I plan to make my own flash animations in the future. I hope they are as good as this was.
